2015 Information:
Where can I go to discuss the game with other fans?
Our community forums are up and running at http://www.othersideentertainment.com/forum/ Last updated: Wed, Feb 4 2015 10:10 am EST
Is this a “spiritual successor” to Ultima Underworld? Is it Ultima Underworld 3? Or what?
Underworld Ascendant is a genuine part of the Underworld series. We have the rights to use all of the elements of the original Underworld games, except for the Ultima brand itself. The characters, monsters, settings, and stories from the original Underworld games are all available for us. Last updated: Wed, Feb 4 2015 10:11 am EST
What’s the story with some people getting these backer exclusive items?
The backer-exclusive items found in stretch goals and pledge tiers will be fun and distinctive awards, but we’ll work to make sure that these provide no competitive edge over players who might not have them, so as to keep the game balanced for all. Last updated: Thu, Feb 5 2015 10:16 am EST
How will I get my poster/boxed set/physical item?
We’ve partnered with manufacturing and shipping professionals to make sure physical goods delivery goes smoothly, leaving us to focus on what we do best. Shipping to the United States is free. International shipping will require $15 above your selected pledge level. So, for example, if you select the $100 pledge level, your total pledge should be $115 with international shipping. I have a favorite feature from the original games. Will it be in Underworld Ascendant?
Our team is committed to staying true to what made Underworld great. But we will also keep making it better! Letting us know what’s important to you is a great reason to join our forums at http://www.othersideentertainment.com/forum/ Last updated: Wed, Feb 4 2015 10:11 am EST
The Pioneer and Pioneer’s Progeny pledge levels mention getting the game at a discount. What does this mean?
If you pledge at the Pioneer or Pioneer’s Progeny level (and all levels above, of course) you will get a full digital copy of the game. The discount reference refers to the fact that at the $20 and $25 dollar levels the price is less than what the full retail price will be upon the game’s release. Will the game be DRM-free?
We plan to have a DRM-free PC release, as well as a Steam version. Last updated: Wed, Feb 4 2015 4:32 pm EST
I get extra copies of the game with my $100+ pledge. Do these copies come with backer rewards or exclusives?
The extra copies of Underworld Ascendant provided at pledge levels of $100 or more are “vanilla” copies of the game. They do not come with any of the rewards that are provided at those pledge tiers, including things like in-game items or alpha/beta access. Last updated: Sat, Feb 7 2015 10:53 am EST
I pledged at a tier granting Alpha/Beta/Pre-Alpha/Prototype Build access, and I’m on Mac/Linux. Will I be able to access these builds along with PC players?
When we release the prototype, pre-alpha, alpha and beta versions of the game to backers who pledged at tiers granting access to them, Linux and Mac users will get those versions as well. The reality of development and QA resources may mean that the Linux and Mac versions will be a little rougher than the PC versions, but Mac and Linux users will be jumping into these versions as PC players do. What is BackerKit?
BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!
The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.
How does BackerKit work?
After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.
I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?
The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.
Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.
To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.
How do I update my shipping address?
BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.
When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?
That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.
I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?
As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
